Wound Experts is a clinician-led knowledge platform focused on wound care, limb preservation, infection prevention, and clinical reasoning. Its purpose is to support better decision-making by integrating evidence, standards of care, and real-world implementation across clinical settings.
Wound care does not belong to a single discipline. It sits at the intersection of medicine, surgery, nursing, podiatry, vascular health, biomechanics, infection control, and systems-level practice. Wound Experts exists to reflect that complexity with structured, practical, and intellectually rigorous content.
What We Stand For
Wound Experts is built on intellectual independence. We value evidence over habit, reasoning over repetition, and clarity over noise. We challenge oversimplified narratives, selective citation, and commercially shaped messaging when they distort clinical priorities.
Our editorial approach is straightforward: what we know, how we know it, what remains uncertain, and what a rational clinician should do next.
Scope
We cover wound care broadly, including:
- diabetic foot ulcers and limb preservation
- venous leg ulcers and compression
- pressure injuries across care settings
- acute, surgical, and traumatic wounds
- infection prevention and stewardship
- advanced therapies and pathway-based decision-making
Editorial Principles
Our content is guided by four commitments:
Evidence first
We prioritize guidelines, high-quality trials, systematic reviews, and credible consensus.
Transparent reasoning
We distinguish evidence from interpretation and explain the logic behind recommendations.
Clinical relevance
We focus on what works in real services, with real patients, under real constraints.
Ongoing revision
When evidence changes, our conclusions change with it.
Leadership
Wound Experts is led by Georgios Theodorakopoulos, CWCA, a Wound and Foot Specialist, clinician, and educator with more than 15 years of experience in wound care and infection prevention. His work spans clinical practice, education, scientific writing, and regional activity across Greece, Cyprus, and Israel.
The platform was created to address a persistent gap in the field: too much wound education remains repetitive, shallow, or commercially influenced. Wound Experts was built to offer something more disciplined — evidence-aware synthesis, critical appraisal, and implementation-focused guidance for serious clinicians.
Independence and Disclosures
Wound Experts may discuss products, devices, and technologies relevant to care. Editorial independence remains the standard. Any relevant conflicts of interest are disclosed where applicable.
